Theodore Haley, CFP®, AIF®
Ted is passionate about helping our clients achieve their goals, both financial and otherwise.
Advanced Wealth Management was founded by Bob, Ted’s father, and is very much a family business, so Ted has been involved in the firm since a very young age. He began full-time in 2008, just in time to help our clients navigate the stock market crash of '08-'09, the related financial crisis, and the so called "Great Recession." Having that experience early on in his career has been invaluable in allowing him to guide the people we work with through the ever-changing and uncertain financial world.
A native Oregonian, Ted grew up in the Portland area and studied at the University of Oregon, where he helped lead the Ducks racquetball team to two top-10 finishes in the U.S. National Collegiate Championships. He graduated from the University of Oregon magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and later went on to earn an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from the Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland.
After college and before starting with Advanced Wealth Management full time, Ted lived in Spain, where he had received a grant from the Spanish government to teach English in a school in a small town in Andalucía. This experience as an educator living abroad gives him a unique world view, and his interest in teaching translates into an drive to educate our clients about what options might be best for them, and why.
Advancing the financial planning profession as a whole is very important to Ted, and he has served as President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Ted has also served as a Subject Matter Expert for the CFP® Board of Standards, working with an elite group of other CFP® professionals to write test questions and otherwise improve the CFP® exam. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Portland.
Ted has been named as one of the Top Next Gen Wealth Advisors as well as a Best-In-State Wealth Advisor by Forbes magazine. He is also a multiyear winner of the Five Star Wealth ManagerSM award*. He has been quoted in several national news and industry media, including CNBC, InvestmentNews, MarketWatch, and U.S. News & World Report.
Giving back has always been a core value of his, and he is active in several local non-profit groups and associations. For him personally, outdoor experiences and adventures have been integral in shaping his worldview, and with that in mind he serves of the Board of Directors of Ukandu, an organization whose mission is to bring joy and hope to children living with cancer and their families through "outrageously fun" outdoor camp experiences.
Outside of the office, Ted loves to explore the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest with his wife Lindsey, their son, and their dog. He and his family also love to travel, and can frequently be found cheering on the local Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns soccer teams.

She became the head of our operations team in 2008, and our systems have run extremely efficiently ever since. She is a long-time member of the Financial Planning Association.
During the years of raising her three children, Linda was an active volunteer with the Beaverton School District, aiding teachers in the classroom, assisting in the school offices, helping with fundraisers and acting as the Volunteer Coordinator for the elementary school. Linda also volunteered as a religious education pre-school teacher during those years at her church. Prior to this, she worked in the medical field doing medical coding for nine osteopathic physicians. All of this experience made her eminently prepared to manage our operations department.
Currently, Linda volunteers her time as a member of the Assistance League of Greater Oregon. She also enjoys outings with her family, gardening, hiking and ballroom dancing. One of her greatest joys is spending time with her four grandchildren.
Dorothy is our business manager. With Lindsey, she is responsible for our internal accounting and human resources.

Her day-to-day tasks vary greatly, as her wealth of knowledge about our business allows her to step in wherever she is needed most. Dorothy avoids the spotlight but always finds a way to make everything work smoothly and effectively.
She enjoys spending time with her family, which now includes a grandson!

Becky Clevenger joined our team in 2010 as a full-time member of our Operations department, helping provide exceptional quality service to our clients. In 2018, she began dividing her days—spending mornings here with us, and the rest of her time caring for her young daughter.
Becky spent her years as an undergrad at Northern Arizona University split between two majors: Computer Science and English language. Ultimately, her love of spoken languages won out over computer programming languages, as she earned her degree in English with a minor in Japanese, and an invitation to Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society. She also became licensed to teach secondary-level English, with special accreditation to teach English-language learners in an immersion environment.
With her English teacher and computer geek split-personality, Becky enjoys serving as both copy editor and in-house tech support for the office.
